Affordable Course Materials

This guide will provide information about affordable course materials and how to locate library and OER resources.

Searching for Library Licensed Material

Library Materials

Materials that are already available through library collections are a great way to supplement or build a course reading list. Check the library collections for ebooks, journal articles, and streaming videos for your courses. OneSearch is a great way to begin the search for library materials, and library databases a good way to narrow to subject specific articles.

We encourage you to work with your library liaison to locate the materials that will work for you.

Search Strategies

OneSearch searches a large portion of the library journal collections in addition to our ebook and streaming video collections. When performing searches in OneSearch the facets on the left of the screen can help narrow results in a variety of ways, including date and resource type. The resource types change depending on which types of resources are more prominent in the search results, but using the More option below will expand the list to include all resource types. Helpful filters include articles, books, book chapters, and videos, etc.
