This "How to Cite..." portion of the guide discusses how citations are formatted and also includes examples of citations for books and articles.
Citations are numbered and listed at the end of your paper in the order they were used. (Wikipedia uses a similar method.)
Within the text, italicized numbers in parentheses indicate which citation is being referred to. It might look something like this:
...(5).
...(8-10).
...(11, 15).
