Guidance on how to complete your capstone.

What is a Literature Review?

A literature review is a process of analyzing and organizing scholarly literature on a topic. In a literature review, you are not establishing your own argument. Instead, you are gathering what has already been written on your topic: synthesizing the arguments, perspectives, or themes, and summarizing the sources and how they apply to your research question.

Access the tutorial below for instructions and tips on how to write a literature review. Learn how to read and organize your sources, determine the scope of your paper, and write your content.

Formatting Guidelines

The library's APA 7th Edition Guide provides resources on everything from formatting a paper to citing a variety of sources:

In addition, each department or program may have specific guidelines for formatting a capstone paper. If you're not sure how something should be formatted, reach out to your instructors or program coordinators.

Additionally, you can use the following guides for more help on writing and formatting:

Get Feedback

Feedback on your capstone chapters is available from the library's online platform, Brainfuse. You can submit up to 10 pages at a time for review and/or use the live chat to get feedback in real time.

You can either submit 10 pages or a chapter at a time or specify which pages you would like the tutor to review.

Find Examples in Digital Commons

A number of CSP programs submit student capstone papers to the university's digital repository. Look at your program in Digital Commons to find examples of previous student work.
