Users should visit the Information Desk inside the Library to check out any library materials. Any materials requested will be held behind the Information Desk for 2 weeks.
For students, faculty, and staff, a valid University ID (or Driver's License) is required to check out library materials. Located on the back of the University ID is the Concordia University Library Barcode, a 14-digit number. Students, faculty, and staff may obtain or replace a University ID card at the Card Services Office located in Meyer Hall 124.
Courtesy borrowing privileges can be obtained for alumni, neighbors, and Lutheran pastors. These library cards may be obtained at the Information Desk in the Library. On the Community & Alumni webpage learn more about Courtesy Borrowing.
For students, faculty, and staff residing outside of the Twin Cities Metro area, materials can be mailed to your home upon request; it is then your personal responsibility to return the materials to the Concordia library through the U.S. postal service.
Students, faculty, and staff must contact the library if they would like their physical materials mailed to them. They can reply to the Hold Shelf Notice email or contact the library via phone, chat or email. They need to provide us with an address. We do not ship internationally.
Students, Faculty and Staff as well as Courtesy Borrowers can checkout materials for the same amount of time.

For materials requested from another library using Interlibrary Loan the loan periods are set by the lending library.
Users can see the due date of materials and request renewals via your library account. Library materials can be renewed from the date of the original loan until they reach a maximum loan period.
Materials can be renewed online by logging into OneSearch with your CSP username and password. Once you are logged in, select your name in the top right-hand corner, and go to My Library Account. There you can renew materials from the Loans section.
Users have the following options for returning library materials:

Concordia University, Saint Paul

Users are responsible for any materials borrowed from the Concordia University Library and Interlibrary Loan. Overdue notices are sent 7 days, 21 days, and 28 days after the due date of most materials. On the 28th day overdue, the materials are considered “Lost.” At this point, the user will receive a Lost notice email.
The user is never charged for a Lost item nor is their account blocked in any way. We encourage you to return “Lost” or damaged materials no matter the condition. Rest assured, you will not be charged for the materials.
