CSP Library StyleGuide Standards and Best Practices

CSP Library standards and guidelines for creating LibGuides at the CSP Library.

Guide Titles

Program Guides:

  • Use the name of the program that students are used to seeing or will look under, e.g. Psychology.
  • Follow the name with the degree, if necessary, e.g. Criminal Justice - MA or Criminal Justice - BA.
  • Do *not* add the term "General" to the title, e.g. Sociology - General.

Course Guides:

  • Use the course number and title that students will be used to seeing, e.g. CJU 487: Delinquent and Criminal Behaviors

Topic Guides:

  • Use titles that are clear regarding what patrons will find on the guide
  • Avoid jargon

Page Titles

Page titles have been set in the blueprint guides. Do not use "Home" for the first page of a guide.

If you need to add additional pages, use direct language to describe what is on the page.
