International Open Access Week will be celebrated October 24-30 this week. Open Access is used to describe research that is shared online in digital format free of charge and with few copyright and licensing restrictions. Open Access research benefits researchers by increasing exposure of their work and increasing their citation rates. It benefits the public at large by giving them access to your research without barriers. The Open Access library guide will provide you with additional information describing open access. In recent years the library has talked a lot about Open Educational Resources (OER) and how they can help with textbook affordability. OER course materials share many features in common with open access. Both focus on public access to materials without cost barriers for end users. Contact the Library if you have questions about open access or want help finding or publishing open access research, at library@csp.edu. Next week we will share about open access at CSP.
