The Curriculum and Instruction Center can guide you in the use of a variety of tools to help foster engagement and learning in your courses. These include embedded LTIs, open-source applications, and tools you may already use.

Collaborative Engagement

Flip
Flip (formerly FlipGrid) is a video-based tool that allows for a more collaborative and interactive discussion than the traditional discussion board. This is a free external tool from Microsoft.
Google Jamboard
Google Jamboard is a collaborative digital whiteboard that allows for real-time creation and editing between multiple users. This tool is included in CSP's Google Suite license.
MindMeister
MindMeister is a mind map creation tool that allows users to collaboratively brainstorm, project plan, etc. in real-time via multiple devices. This is an external tool with both free and paid versions available.
Padlet
Padlet is a collaborative board creation platform, users can create visual interests boards, notices boards, etc. This is an external tool with both free and paid versions available.
Perusall
Perusall is a collaborative annotation and discussion platform available in the LMS through an LTI integration. Cost varies.

Content Creation

Canva
Canva is a graphic design creation tool that users can use to create content from scratch or select from a variety of design templates (presentations, lessons, charts, infographics, etc.). This is an external tool with both free and paid versions available.
Google Docs
Google Docs is a collaborative online word document creation tool that allows for real-time creation and editing between multiple users. This tool is included in CSP's Google Suite license.
Google Slides
Google Docs is a collaborative online slide presentation creation tool that allows for real-time creation and editing between multiple users. This tool is included in CSP's Google Suite license
MolView
MolView is an interactive 3D molecule creator and viewer. This is a free external tool.
Peardeck
Peardeck is an interactive lesson and formative assessment creation tool. This is an external tool with both free and paid versions available.

Gamification and Quizzing

Google Forms
Google Forms can be collaboratively used to create line forms, quizzes, and/or surveys with various question types and pacing. This tool is included in CSP's Google Suite license.
JeopardyLabs
JeopardyLabs allows users to create customized Jeopardy game boards or to choose from pre-created boards. This is an external tool with both free and paid versions available.
Kahoot
Kahoot allows users to create interactive real-time games and quizzes. This is an external tool with both free and paid versions.

Interactive Simulations

Auralia & Musition
Auralia & Musition are AI-based assessment tools that allow students to develop musicianship skills virtually. These tools are available as LTI integrations within the LMS; pricing models vary.
Labster
Labster uses AI-based interactive simulations and practice labs to immerse and engage students in science virtually. This tool is available within the LMS as an LTI integration, pricing model varies.

Textbook Alternatives & Supplements

MyOpenMath
MyOpenMath provides an alternative delivery of homework, quizzes, and tests for math students. Students can receive immediate feedback on generated questions with numerical or algebraic expression answers. My Open Math also provides a complete course management system designed with mathematics in mind.
Zybooks
ZyBooks is an interactive web content tool that can be used to replace textbooks, homework, and labs. Currently, zyBooks offers content on the following subjects: Computer Science, Engineering, Math & Statistics, Data Science, Information Technology

Tutoring, Studying, and Writing

Brainfuse - Online Tutoring
Brainfuse is a 24/7 online chat tutoring and writing lab free to all CSP students and faculty. This tool can be accessed via the below link or added directly to courses within the LMS through an LTI link. Through Brainfuse, faculty can create tutoring tasks to assign to specific students in their courses, create study materials, etc. While students can chat with live tutors 24/7 as well as submit papers through the Brainfuse writing lab option.
Grammarly
Grammarly is an AI-supported grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. reviewing tool which is free for CSP students and faculty. Students can use this tool to help improve their performance before submitting their work, as well as self-checking for some forms of plagiarism. For help accessing Grammarly, please email helpdesk@csp.edu.
Quizlet
Quizlet is a study tool that allows for manual and auto-creation (AI) of digital flashcards. Using spaced repetition, retrieval practice, varied question types, guidance fading, and goal setting, students are able to work towards their learning goals at their pace. This tool is external to CSP and has both free and paid versions.
