My Courses (D2L Brightspace)

Use this checklist to help get your My Courses prepared for a new term or semester- It gives guidance on how to do things like set up notifications and set dates for course content and assignments.

• Edit your Profile, Notifications, and Account Settings
• Update the Instructor Profile widget on your course homepage
• Adjust the availability and due dates (use the manage dates tool in the Course Admin tab in your course navbar for fastest results) of your

            Announcements

            Assignments

            Discussions

            Quizzes

• Make Discussion End Dates the same as your due dates (to make discussion due dates visible in students’ Work To Do Widget (student equivalent of your Quick Eval widget)
• Adjust the start and end dates for Content you want to hide from students
• Set up Quiz and Assignment Special Access for students with accommodations
• Enable Respondus LockDown Browser for Quizzes
• Enable Turnitin before students submit assignments
• Check Grades tab for accuracy (this is your gradebook)
• Set up recurring Zoom class meetings via the “Zoom” tab
• View your course as a learner to make sure it’s the way you want your students to
  see it and adjust accordingly
