Overview of tutoring and writing support

We provide course-specific tutoring as well as writing-focused tutoring to all Concordia students. Engagement options include one-on-one or group tutoring sessions, in-person or online. 24/7 online tutoring is available for some subjects.

We encourage you to refer your students to the Tutoring & Writing Support website at library.csp.edu/tutoring, where they can explore the full range of tutoring options and find the option that works best for them.

Citation support

Properly citing sources is important, but it can be a daunting process for students unfamiliar with the norms and mechanics of citing sources. We encourage you to provide clear directions to your students on what citation format (APA, MLA, etc.) they are expected to use as well as any ways your personal expectations deviate from a standard format.

We have extensive guides on citing sources in a number of formats:

The above guides are functionally equivalent to the Purdue OWL site, which is a common place instructors send students to for citation support.

We ask that you consider using these resources instead of asking students to purchase their own copy of a style manual. In addition, you can work with us to embed customized writing supports within your courses.

Embed writing support within your course

You can work with the Library to embed course-specific writing supports within your Blackboard course. This can include online interactive modules, online quizzes, and handouts across a range of topics, including evaluating and citing sources, understanding misinformation, and academic writing concepts.
