Scholarly Articles

For the in-text citations, include specific page numbers for where the information came from within the article. In the reference list, include the page range of the entire article. 


In-text Citation Format:

...(Author Last Name, Year, Page).

In-text Citation Example:

...(Voss 2015, 199).


Reference List Format:

Author Last Name, Author First Name. Year. "Title of Article." Title of Journal Volume (Issue): Pages. URL, DOI, or Database.

Reference List Example:

Voss, Kevin E. 2015. " "Religious Beliefs and Reproductive Counseling Practices in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod." Christian Bioethics: Non-ecumenical Studies in Medical Morality 21(2): 199-213. doi:10.1093/cb/cbv004.

Articles from Magazines and Newspapers

For physical magazines and newspapers, replace the URL with page numbers.

Page numbers, if any, can be cited within in-text citations but are omitted from the reference list. If you consulted the article online, include a URL or the name of the database.

...(Nelson 2020).


Reference List Format:

Author's Last Name, Author's First Name. Year "Title of Article." Title of Magazine, Date of Publication. URL.

Reference List Example:
