Chicago/Turabian Citation Guide
Introduction

Chicago/Turabian Style

Chicago and Turabian citation styles are almost identical and you most likely will never need to know the subtle differences.

It is important to know that there are two options for citing in Chicago/Turabian style.

  • Notes/Bibliography style uses footnotes or endnotes as well as a bibliography list at the end of the paper.
  • Author/Date style is similar to many other citation styles in that the author, date, and page numbers are included at the end of a sentence in parentheses. A reference list is included at the end of the paper.

Be sure to use whichever style is specified by your professor!
